A total of 319 prospective students visited Knox College during its recent Admitted Student Day events.
This year’s celebrations took place on Friday, April 10, and Friday, April 17. The events featured performances by the Cherry Street Combo, lunch, opportunities for visitors to attend classes, and even a couple of new sessions focused on learning opportunities at Green Oaks and career success.
Although Admissions staff declined media presence around the visitors themselves, Knox’s Executive Assistant and Visit Experience Coordinator Norma Rodriguez shared her goal for the event.
“Whether it’s the parents that are a little scared sometimes about their son or daughter going off to college, or it’s a prospective student not sure, I hope at the end of the day they leave here with a sense of the Knox community and how great it is,” said Rodriguez.
Current students helped to showcase that sense of community, whether through admissions, musical performances, a welcome panel, a mixer, or simply by demonstrating what it means to feel at home on campus.
“I would say they’re gonna find a great group of people, sometimes just like themselves and sometimes maybe a little different,” Rodrigez said.
